Renewal
A Mindful Poem
Like the little droplets of rain
Which soon disappear as they hit the ground
I too wish to quickly vanish
At the end of the day.
I long for nothingness,
And I hope all is no longer here.
No thoughts, worries, fears, or even hope,
As the moon rises and consumes it all
And it’s all put to rest.
But as the sun comes up every morning,
A new version of me is born
With the same naivete of a child
With the same innocence as any sentient being.
I open my windows and watch the world unfold
As if it were my very first time watching it.
My soul, my body, and my essence
They’ve all been renewed.
I am thus resurrecting daily
Learning to like new things every day
Or even hate new things too.
I discover a new piece of me that has been buried for so long
As I let go of the day before.
It’s conscious, forced amnesia of some sort
But it’s the only way I can thrive
Through a daily sense of peace
Through the blessing of renewal.
