Another Day, Another Life
A prose poem about renewal
Wouldn’t it be nice if we were given a chance
of a total reset button?
A brand new life, a brand new heart,
A new family. New friends.
Wouldn’t it be nice?
Although it hurts to say,
We have already been given this button.
Each morning, as the sun rises
With it, comes another chance.
To look outside and notice something new;
To ask our loved ones a new question;
and find something new about them.
To find joy in the smallest things.
To taste new flavors.
To eat that piece of cake.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we lived as if it was our last day?
